The agreement

These terms govern your use of the hosted vidcut service at usevidcut.com. vidcut is operated by an individual (sole proprietor), not a company. By creating an account you accept these terms.

The open-source build is separate

The vidcut editor is open-core. The self-hosted build is licensed to you under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0, and that licence — not these terms — governs what you may do with it. These terms apply only to the hosted service.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. Tell the operator promptly if you believe someone else has gained access.

Plans, billing and refunds

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe. Plan allowances — rendering minutes, transcription minutes and storage — are stated on the pricing page and reset each billing period.

A full refund is available within seven days of a payment, with no exit survey. Ask at support@usevidcut.com.

You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops future charges; it does not retroactively refund a period already served, except under the seven-day refund above.

Your content

You keep every right you already hold in the footage, audio and other material you upload. Nothing here transfers ownership.

You grant the operator only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your material, process it, and produce the timelines, captions and rendered output you ask for. That permission ends when the material is deleted.

You must hold the rights necessary to upload and process what you upload, including any music, footage or likeness belonging to someone else.

AI processing

When you use an AI agent to edit, the text of your instructions and the structured state of your project are sent to the model provider so that the agent can act. If you bring your own API key, that request is made under your own account with that provider and is subject to their terms.

Every change an agent makes lands in the editor for you to review. You decide what is exported.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to produce or distribute material that is unlawful where you are, that infringes someone else’s rights, or that depicts a real person in a sexual or defamatory way without their consent.

Do not attempt to disrupt the service, circumvent plan limits, or access other users’ material.

Accounts used for the above may be suspended.

Availability and disclaimers

The hosted service is provided as it is. No promise is made that it will be uninterrupted, that rendering will always succeed, or that it will fit a particular purpose. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending the agreement

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. The operator may end the agreement if these terms are broken, or on reasonable notice if the hosted service is discontinued — in which case any prepaid unused period is refunded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Taiwan (Republic of China).
