Who runs this service

vidcut is operated by an individual (sole proprietor), not a company. You can reach the operator at support@usevidcut.com for any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights described below.

What this policy does not cover

vidcut is open-core. If you run the AGPL build on your own machine, none of your footage, projects or account details reach the operator at all — there is no account, no upload and nothing to collect. This policy covers only the hosted cloud service at usevidcut.com.

What is collected

Account data: your email address, and — if you sign in with Google — the basic profile information Google returns for that sign-in. Authentication is handled by Supabase.

Project data: the names and identifiers of the projects you create, and the media you upload together with the timelines, captions, audio and rendered output derived from it.

Billing data: your subscription status and plan. Payment card details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by vidcut.

Operational logs: ordinary server logs produced by the hosting providers listed below, used to keep the service running and to investigate faults.

What is not collected

There are no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking scripts on this website. No behavioural profile is built, and nothing is sold or shared with advertisers.

Cookies and local storage

vidcut_lang — remembers the interface language you chose. Expires after one year.

Authentication cookies set by Supabase — keep you signed in. Clearing them signs you out.

vidcut_theme — stored in your browser’s local storage, not sent to any server. It remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme.

There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Who processes your data

The following providers process data on the operator’s behalf in order to run the service:

Supabase — account records and authentication (including Google sign-in), and your project list.

Vercel — hosting for this website and the dashboard.

Fly.io — the machines that run the editor and perform rendering and transcription.

Anthropic — only when you use an AI agent to edit. If you bring your own API key, that usage is billed to you by Anthropic directly and does not pass through a vidcut account.

Stripe — payments. Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach vidcut.

How long it is kept

Media and projects are kept for 30 days after you cancel a subscription, so that you can come back or export your work, and are deleted after that.

Account records are kept until you ask for the account to be deleted.

Billing records are retained by Stripe for as long as their own obligations require.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for your account and its content to be deleted. Write to support@usevidcut.com and the operator will act on the request.

Depending on where you live you may have further rights under local data-protection law, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, the change will be announced before it takes effect. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
